Greetings & Introductions

Updates:

The South End Neighborhood Coaltion has formed a committee to come up with a focused approach to improve problems with trash collection and recycling. A report from the committee will be delivered at the next SENC meeting on 2/13.

The Alliance of Boston Neighborhoods has successfully blocked a controversial relocation of the Boston University Boathouse to public land.

Development: Majpr projects are said to be on schedule - Wilkes Passage (7/02), Rollins Square (10/02), Phase I of the Silver Line (4/02).

The long awaited reopening of The Red Fez on Washington St. has happened! We welcome a moderately priced neighborhood restaurant.

Open Discussion:

This was one of our periodic meetings which are dedicated largely to discussion of member concerns. Those present expressed continued concerns about trash problems; this further input will be passed along to the SENC in hopes that a concerted effort can make a difference. General discussion and information sharing consumed the balance of our time.
