Presentation on Outdoor Seating at 46 Waltham for Union Restaurant:

Mr. Jeffrey Gates of Union was considering adding outdoor seating for his restaurant in the courtyard at 46 Waltham St., which abuts a residential block. After receiving negative feedback from those who would be impacted, out of respect for his neighbors Mr. Gates decided against moving forward with the concept.

Presentation for Support of Valet Parking License:

Mr. Garrett Harker (General Manager, B&G Oysters, Ltd. and The Butcher Shop) and Mr. Christian Straub (Managing Partner, Ultimate Professional Valet Services) were present to seek support of their application for a valet parking license to service both restaurants and to be located in front of B&G (550 Tremont). They would like to have 2 spaces available from 5:00 PM until closing (1:00 AM., although they anticipate that the City may only grant this until Midnight) utilizing a dedicated parking lot at the corner of Columbus Ave. & Berkeley St. (with overflow spaces available at 131 Dartmouth St.).

With the feeling that a well-managed valet service is of general benefit, Membership voted to support this application [NOTE: support letter sent to Mr. Dan Nuzzo, BTD, with a CC to Mr. Harker, on 4 March].
