Graffiti
If you ever see graffiti in the neighborhood, you need to take action to get it removed. The longer graffiti remains in place, the more the taggers will be confident they can continue to tag our neighborhood. When you see graffiti in the neighborhood you should:
- Report the graffiti to Boston via the 311 system (call 3-1-1 or use the BOS:311 app for iPhone or android)
- Call 9-1-1 to place a police report. BPD is OK with you calling 911 and asking for a report - they will send an officer around to take a photo and record the graffiti. it helps them identify related graffiti and can help in their search for the tagger
- Have the building owner fill in a release form - this lets the city remove the graffiti from the building.
