October 2013 Eight Streets Neighborhood Association Meeting

Announcements

• The pot luck was a great success – thanks to all who helped out and all who attended
• November 5^th – general election! Mayor and City Council to be elected.
• Wednesday, October 16^th – a debate amongst district 2 council candidates, and at-large council candidates. 6pm, BFIT.

293 Shawmut Ave – George Morancy, Attorney (Jim Kane, Owner)

Mr. Kane wishes to increase occupancy in his building from 5 to 6 units. A duplex unit will be separated to make two individual units. Mr. Kane spoke of his desire to create more affordable units of housing in the neighborhood, and this is an opportunity to do so.

After presentation and discussion, the membership voted to not oppose the increase of occupancy. A letter was sent to the ZBA

Discussion of 80 East Berkeley Street

An update on the public meeting and additional information on the 80 East Berkeley proposed development.
