Mission
The Friends of Watson park , a coalition of South End Neighbors, supporters, local businesses and community agencies, works in partnership with the City of Boston's Parks Department to maintain and beautify the park for the enjoyment of all.
The Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Vision
The Friends of Watson Park work to create an oasis in the midst of a densely populated urban neighborhood. The park provides a quiet, contemplative greenspace for reading, enjoying beautiful plantings and picnicking.
Funds raised are used to purchase flowering bulbs, bushes and structural elements such as trellises and planters and to provide for year-round maintenance.
The Friends of Watson Park welcome all who wish to help, as volunteers or supporters. We hope to build a vibrant, engaged group of neighbors to care for and nurture Eight Street’s only pocket park for many years.
